Benjamin Furawo was born in 1983 in Zimbabwe and grew up in a place near Harare the capital city. He has been interested in art since he was young boy and used to draw with different mediums e.g. charcoal, pastels etc when he was still in high school.
He was offered a bursary at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe after winning the first prize at the Pritt Annual School Art Competitions.
In 2002 he became a student at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. At the time he engaged himself in various exhibitions, workshops , art forums etc.
